Darren joined the company in 1990 as junior accountant and has been a loyal and hardworking member of the team, he was appointed as a director in 2008. Darren is now our Managing Director and is responsible for the day to day running of the practice. Darren has boundless energy and has always had a great rapport with clients.
John started his accountancy career with Singleton Fabian latterly BDO Stoy Hayward. He then joined a client group specialising in Lloyds of London Insurance syndicates as chief accountant.
In 1980 his ambition was to become self employed and set up Ashley James as a partnership still managing the insurance group accounts but expanding a general portfolio of private clients.
John now prefers to use his experience on new business start-up and corporate recovery.
David joined Ashley James in 1981 having worked with John at BDO for six years then at EMI records as assistant to the chief accountant. David became a partner in 1990 and has unlimited experience in all aspects of accountancy and taxation. David is also semi-retired but is involved in the company on a consultancy basis.
Amanda joined us in 2007 and has thirty years’ experience of SME companies and self – employed including Health and Social Care Workers. Amanda looks after a significant portfolio of clients and specialises in Annual and Management accounting and new business.
Leigh has been with us since 1992 and apart from being our office manager he runs our Payroll Department with over 250 monthly payrolls and our Company Formations and Company Secretarial services. Leigh is always there to assist when needed.
Adam joined us in 2016. Adam’s previous experience was in commerce and practice and he has added strength to our accounts department looking after his own portfolio of clients.
Jenny joined us in 2016 having previously taught accounting at an undergraduate level in the Philippines for over 8 years. Now established in the UK she has already settled in our practice and has become a valuable and hard-working member of the team.
Debbie joined us in 2019.
Erika joined us in September 2023.

Sarah joined us in 1992 as office junior and has been our senior Secretary for the last twenty years. There is not much that Sarah does not know about our clients and she keeps a well -oiled ship running as smoothly as possible.
